There Sphere of Influence  is a 14 foot diameter geodesic sphere with a light weight race car seat suspended in the center.  The seat has a four point restraint harness.  A participant is strapped into the seat and the Sphere is rolled.  Since the seat is in a fixed orientation with the outer sphere structure, the participant rolls upside down, side to side, etc., as the Sphere is rolled.

The Sphere of Influence is constructed of 2" ID PVC pipe with welded steel connection hubs.  The Sphere consists of  of 90 struts and 32 hubs.  It is fastened together with 360 bolts, 360 nuts, and 720 washers.  The seat is suspended by 20 1/8" steel cables.  On site construction took about 1 1/2 days.

A large sealed 12volt battery is fixed under the seat.  This battery powers a 200watt quadraphonic sound system, 8 high power strobes lights, and 5 revolving police lights.  The lighting and sound equipment, and it's associated wiring is contained within the shell of the Sphere so it may be rolled freely.
